Largo Winch in another close one

Largo Winch seems to love the camera. He got his nose in front in another close finish, the second of his career. Alysha Collett gave him an excellent ride in the Class 1 Handicap at Orange.

Both of Largo Winch’s wins have come in a photo finish.

“It was excellent to see him stay tough first-up like that,” Woodpark Assistant Trainer Pierre Dubois said.

“Alysha put him in a lovely rhythm upfront. He thrives when he can control the race like that.

“It was a great battle down the straight and another nervous watch with him. He managed to hold on again.

“We have been really happy with his work at home and if he can hold a bit of form then we will be looking for a Highway Race in Sydney to aim him at.”

Largo Winch has been a consistent horse for Woodpark with five placings coming in his first 10 starts.

The three-year-old is by former Arrowfield-shuttler Mikki Isle and out of the Animal Kingdom mare Lady Messene.
