Spring time, I See You

03 Sep Spring time, I See You

It was a timely win for talented filly See You In Spring when she returned to the winners circle on the second day of Spring on Thursday.

The Woodpark Stud-bred filly was a Listed winning juvenile at just her second start after also winning on debut. She returned as a three-year-old in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) amongst the top fillies of her crop.

She appreciated the step back in class and the drop back to 1000m when she claimed the Browns Sawdust & Shavings BM70 Handicap in open company at Cranbourne in Victoria.

“She’s got the job done today, it’s never easy for the three-year-old’s against the older horses,” trainer Trent Busuttin said after the race.

“We’ll have a look at the program, I think she’s a 1000m filly and hopefully she can find another Stakes race but we’ll enjoy today.”

See You In Spring was purchased by First Light Racing, Paul Willetts and Busuttin Racing for $85,000 at the 2020 Inglis Ready2Race Sale from the WBF Thoroughbreds draft.

The daughter of Aga Khan stallion Siyouni has now won three races from her five starts. She is out of the Shamardal mare Spring Colours. Spring Colours has an Astern two-year-old named Spy Ninja and has been retained to race by Woodpark. She has an Aylmerton yearling that is a three-quarter to See You In Spring as he himself is by Siyouni. Spring Colours is due to foal to Pariah this Spring.

See You In Spring’s total earnings are now just shy of $100,000 and she looks set for a big Spring.
